Happy Halloween!

Laton wants to go trick or treating tonight but I don't think the deer and pigs have any treats for us!

Gators Galore!

Gator!

A boat heading into the Ortona Locks

This was the view from our campsite. Very Interesting.
We are enjoying our last couple of days here at Ortona Locks and Laton caught this gator cruising by. Can you imagine people on ski-doos and canoes share this waterway with all these gators. He was one of three sunning on the shore line across the way from us.

Ortona Locks

Muzzle loading season is over and General Gun doesn't start until November 5th so we have a nice little break to explore FL. When we drove over to Sanibel Island a couple weeks ago, we found a great little Army Corp of Engineers Campground called Ortona Locks . The Lake Okeechobee Waterway cuts through the middle of Florida from the Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico.  There are several locks to aid the boats traveling on the waterway. It is very interesting on the map. We are enjoying several days here watching the boats and enjoying the wide open scenery. A bit different than the feeling of living in the jungle of palmettas and pines at JW Corbett WMA.

Gecko Eating a Moth

We have a little colony of Geckos that live around the kiosk and this one caught a moth and proceeded to swallow the whole thing in a matter of seconds. I felt like I was watching a mini horror show!
It was almost gone by the time I turned the camera on!

Travis and his deer taken in FL

Tim and his deer taken in GA

This is a our friend Tim with his deer he shot during archery season in GA. We met Tim & his wife Stacey while camp hosting in Prairie Creek, CA.  Good friends, Good Times.

Travis is a new friend and a local hunter here in FL and this is his take during muzzle loading season here at JW Corbett WMA.

Fall in the Air

The weather has cooled down about 20 degrees here in Florida.  Whoooo Hoooo!  I think our blood got a little thick the last few years we spent in the Northwest.  We are adjusting. I had a fun weekend working on cards. Here are my creations.

The pink flower is sort of sheer and see through.  It is intended to be a feminine birthday card. It is not my usual style.  This is a little bit  flowery and shabby chic.

There's Snowman Like You.
This card is called an easel card. I used a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers.  I had fun coloring the little snowman and used up some snowflake buttons hanging out in my button stash.

Florida Flora

Laton took the dogs for a drive while I was working on some cards and he brought me back a flower picture. It is so pretty. Not sure what it is.

Quack! Quack!

We saw these ducks today.
They are very different from what we have seen before.
Per this link they are called Moscovy Ducks

A Good Witch

Here is one of my Halloween Cards. I am not sure what the name is for the folds but I have directions and measurements so just let me know if you need them.  I am loving this Wicked stamp set.  The witch is full size but I only used the bottom portion of her feet and skirt.

Halloween Layout

This is a 2 page layout I created from Close To My Heart papers; Mischief and a stamp set titled Backdrop-Charmed.  I added some fun accents with black felt cut outs. I used a layout from one of our idea books. I was pleased with how it turned out. Now I am just waiting for some cute costume pictures of our new grandsons!

It is October

I thought I would share some fun October pictures  of cards, decorations and costumes.  I am going to start out with a photo shoot of Sadie Mo from October 2007.  She was not happy about her costume. I think she sees herself more as a princess and not a WITCH.

I had to follow her around to catch her and she wouldn't look at the camera.

Our neighbor drove by and yelled out how cute Sadie looked and she looked up and I got a perfect picture. Thank you Adriana.

Awwww!

We had a cute little visitor today. Her name is Daisey.
She is a red bone hound. Isn't she a sweetie.
