Merry Christmas

It is hard to believe this year is over.  We are having a wonderful holiday.  We spoke with all our children in Arizona on Christmas.  We spent Christmas Eve with the parents, brothers and sister and all their family.  It was clam chowder and a pot luck desert dinner.  I don’t think I can look at another cookie at this point.  Everything was wonderful.  Christmas Day was clear and sunny.  Laton and I were able to drive around on the back roads around our campsite and explore.  It was very pleasant.

Cold, Cold, Cold

It has been very cold here in the park. Laton and I have moved across the road to the actual campground and are now doing the campground host position along with the maintenance position.  The new camp site is much warmer.  It gets the morning sun so the trailer is nice and toasty during the day.  The elk hang in the meadow around our trailer.  Maggie is very interested in all the action around us.  Sadie could care less as you can see from this photo. LOL.

Candle Light Walk and Storytelling

Tonight was a fundraiser for the Interpretive Association in the Park.  We walked to the amphitheater along a trail lit with luminaries.  The night was clear and cold and the stars were absolutely amazing.  There were some wonderful storytelling at the campfire by a master storyteller.  The visitor center had an auction, appetizers and hot coffee and cider.  It was a very fun evening.
