Moab, Utah

Today was a day off and we took a drive to Moab, UT! Our first stop was at Castle Creek Winery! I bought a bottle of Lily Rose White, but I must say the Cabernet Sauvignon was very nice also. YUM!

Dewey Bridge
Then we continued our drive to the Dewey Bridge area which includes the Entrada Bluffs. We continued ohing and awing as we drove along the Colorado River until we came to the turn off for the town of Moab. We enjoyed a nice mexican lunch and shopped for t-shirts at the Moab Red Dirt Shirt Store .

Heading back to I-70 to loop back to Grand Junction, we toured the Arches National Park (getting a thrill using our Senior Pass for free entrance).

The 3 Gossips ( I think they look like the 3 Wise men)

Balanced Rock
Windows Area
We enjoyed exploring the park all afternoon and then had a leisurely drive home.

Let's start out our St. Pat's Day with this lovely centerpiece. Grab some potatoes, pile into the bowl of your choice, tuck in some green and white flowers and set out on the table with any other Irish decorations you may have...instant and very green...as in recycle. LOL!

Everything You Do Is Right Day

Today is a wonderful holiday...it is so nice to be right once in a while. Per Wacky Holidays website today is Everything You Do Is Right Day and it just might be a perfect day. Life is filled with ups and downs. Some days are good days. Some days are bad days. Most often, there's both good and bad in any given day. You take lifes ups and downs with a grain of salt. Every once in a while, a day comes along where everything you do goes well.....the perfect day!
Today is just the opposite of yesterday- - Everything you Think is Wrong Day. Sure, there is more than subtle differences in interpretation and meaning of the two days. But, you get the picture. Today is going to be your day... a good, errr make that great day!
We hope everything you do goes right today and every day.

More Snow

Here is a view of the mountains outside of Salt Lake City. The drive over the mountains between Yuba City, CA and Reno, NV was pretty bad. The roads were icy and it snowed and visibility was not great. The temperature was 15 degrees. After getting past Reno, the roads and weather were clear, just cold. We were really glad to get back.

California or Bust

We are settled here in Grand Junction for several months so have decided to go to California to pick up our jeep & utility trailer from storage and bring them back. We checked on lots of options for traveling to California. The cheapest was Amtrak, believe it or not. It was only $114 for a 1-way ticket to Sacramento for one person. After much discussion and crunching the numbers, we decided to rent a car for $88 with unlimited mileage, drove 15 hours to Yuba City, CA and had time to spend a day or two with our nephew Alan and his wife Kirsty. It worked out well because I got to go and we were able to take the dogs with us. They love to travel.

My take on a Thank You!

I created a card that hangs on a bottle of water. It has a little pocket to hold a mini candy bar and a drink tube to flavor the water. It is like hanging a party on a bottle of water for someone.

It's Snowing! It's Snowing!

We woke up to a blanket of white this morning. We didn't have to work today! We have such an arduous commute, we walk out the trailer door and walk 75 yards to the office. Much better than my 45 mile round trip commute and Laton's 100 mile round trip commute we previously had.
