I decided to cut up a pair of Laton's Levis and make an apron with some scraps of material I had tucked away and here is my creation! Totally free because it only used scraps and an old pair of Levis. Love It! The brown is a print that actually looks like tooled leather so it has a real western flavor.
We had a fun camping trip in our new (to us) Jeep! Threw in sleeping bags, cooler and our chairs and off we went. We headed east, then north, then west and then south! It was fun.
My sister, Carolyn, gave me a lunch for my birthday. We were finally able to schedule it today, and it was a wonderful lunch. There is a great little sushi place in Brookings, OR. Check out our feast! Yummmmmmmm!
I have been working on creating cards this week for various swaps I joined. I am really proud of these cards. Click here for the directions. You pull the ribbon and the card waterfalls to the next frame on the card. The pull tab has the sentiment for the card.
We have a utility trailer and I was unable to haul it with my PT Cruiser. Most of our moves require two trips, one to move the travel trailer and one to move the utility trailer and my car.
Now I can pull the utility trailer with the car and we can move easily in one trip. YEA! Of course I now need to learn how to pull a trailer. I can do this!
Laton had a great Dad Day. He heard from all his kids and we enjoyed some delicious Chinese Food at a great Restaurant called Gonsea. It was a great place with good food.

Today is the 31st birthday of our twin boys. I miss my little boys but am very proud of the men they have become. This is one of my favorite ages of the boys. They are five in this picture at a camping trip in Idaho.
Our daughter, Lumara and her baby, Vance, went camping this weekend and she reported "Vance loved it, he slept through the night!" Isn't he just the cutest.
Our son, Lee, asked his girlfriend, Adella, to marry him at Rainbow Falls, Hawaii. She said YES! They are planning a destination wedding in a year or two. That is a good thing...we can save up and go!
My mom, Ann, just bought this mint cleaner. I was up visiting her today and she brought it out and set it up and we watched it for 10 minutes. It was great entertainment. She said it is great because it cleans under her beds on her hardwood floors. It was better than watching TV.
I have been downloading free e-books from B&N for my Nook Color (LOVE IT!) and picked up a book called Fun Facts about Pets by Seymour Simon (not realizing it was a children's book).
"Dogs' feet sweat when they are nervous or excited. So if your dog has stinky feet, he may just be feeling playful! Sweaty feet also help dogs cool down on hot days."
We have traveled through eastern California along the Feather River and ended up visiting our nephew and his wife, Alan & Kirsty. Alan is quite the grill cook and we enjoyed steak and grilled scallops. Kirsty puts out a snack spread that almost precludes eating dinner.YUM! It was a fun evening visiting and telling old family stories. They are so tried and true, it only takes a sentence to start the laughter and explain the whole story! For example, the camping dinner Alan cooked on a hunting trip as a young man and the dog wouldn't eat it, when Alan had his appendix out, when Alan skipped school and Uncle Bug caught him, or Alan & Uncle Bug's last dirt bike ride that ended in a trip to the hospital for Alan. I think they should have gone to the hospital a couple times before that, but they healed and Laton doesn't limp much at all! LOL!
I had the pleasure of meeting up with my childhood friend and college roommate and long-time friend, Sue, in Quincy, CA. We have the kind of friendship that doesn't require constant contact to be able to pick up conversations like we have never been apart. It was a fun visit.
We have stopped for the evening in Quincy, CA. We are staying at Pioneer RV Park. We are thinking about checking out the dog wash in the park for our puppies. Here is a picture from their web site. I love it!
I (Carrie) went to college with my friend, Sue, and she lives in Quincy. I am hoping to get together and share some memories tomorrow with her.
We have been looking around the area of Hawthorne as a possible place to land between our camp hosting positions since it is almost exactly in the middle between Phoenix, AZ and Crescent City, CA. We are checking out the different property prices and services offered in the area. Hawthorne is a very nice small town. We were disappointed that there are no fish in beautiful Walker Lake. (click to find out why!) We plan on heading back to California tomorrow. Will let you know where we land.
